I’m at work, trying to get my phone to connect online for browsing… However, because of the company network this is not possible. I have to unplug the network cable, and only then browsing works.

Does anybody know what settings I could apply to XP, so that I can continue using the Company applications over its network, and let me browse via my phone’s Connection sharing on the same pc, without me having to resort to unplugging the network cable or disabling the network etc... ?

How do you get your IP address. If it is a static IP address, then you just need to remove the gateway setting each time you want to you use your phone, and put it back when you stop using the phone. If you use DHCP, you need to find out if you can fiddle with the settings. Furthermore, if this is a corporate, then you more than likely are going to have some advanced routing you are going to have to go through. All depends on your setup at work

well, i managed to get admin previlages enabled... so can change settings. just looking for a way to tell the browser to look at the phone's for browsing. i've tried setting the proxy settings to look at the phone's ip addy but didnt help... i'm on a touch HD phone...

For a connection through your phone, you should set your browser to automatically detect, and not put any manual proxy settings in. Just leave the browser at default settings. That should do it
