Compaq and vista

Will a Compaq C795ei notebook come whit a stand alone Windows Vista Home Basic DVD that can be installed on any pc or will it come whit it already loaded and a system restore DVD whit all Compaq drivers and vistas on it ?

Usually (and I speak from experience with HP-related computers) is that the install program will check the BIOS whether it's Compaq/HP-branded or not, and if it's not, then it'll refuse to install.

You should get a system restore DVD with your purchase, best is to check before purchase.

But why Vista? Why not wait a few months longer for Windows7?

In the market for a notebook and would rather install my copy of XP I have on the notebook and install it's OS (vista) on my desktop thats runin on the said XP
