Compaq Presario CQ58 Screen Replacement

Hi all,

As the title reads, I have a Compaq Presario CQ58 and need to replace the screen. Family member closed the laptop with headphones still in which killed the screen. Does anyone know where in Cape Town I will be able to get a replacement screen installed? Have looked around but no luck yet.

This is really urgent to get done as it is a work laptop.

Just recieved a quote for R1999 ex for the screen but will need to be ordered and can take 5-7 working days. Anyone know of any other reputable companies that might offer better prices? I have looked on Gumtree but not feeling 100% about the ads I have seen. Is there not a HP service center in Cape Town?

Thanks, I tried both those but they had to order them in ect and I needed it done ASAP so thought someone might know of a different place.

I got it sorted tho at a place called Compu Cell in Parkade Mall, they charged R1400 and did it there and then, took 15 minutes and comes with 6 month warranty.

Curiosity.

I haven't seen that many people bringing panels in, and they had yours in stock.
15 min is quite fast.

Usually takes me about 10-15min to get the laptop apart enough to take the broken panel out, then look if i have a spare, or i need to order one!
