What is the comparable replacement CPU for the Pentium 4 3.2GHz with HT (for insurance claim). As well as the Gigabyte GeForce 6600 GFx card.

Would that claim not include the mobo as well?
Reason being is if that P4 is a socket 478 then it's obsolete and you can claim further for new mobo and possibly ram because of that.

A duo-core 2.2GHz CPU+mobo and a 9600GT GFX card should be comparable

Think you'll battle to find a 2.2 dual core on the market still, next one is

Intel ® Pentium ® Dual Core 5200 2.5 GHz
and there is MSI NX8400GS-TD512EH

You'll find you don't need the mobo spec, besides maybe mATX to ATX,
as you claim obsolete which pushes your spec to entry level on the new platform.

MoBo is socket 775, but it was fried as well so will also be claiming for such.

The 6600 was an awesome card back in the days, don't see how you can compare it to a 8400. A replacement for that card now a days would be either a 8600GT or 9600GT

Ah ok, disregard last post - however your RAM will probably be fried along with the PSU so check also.

Yes but the OP is dealing with insurance and would have to give good reasons why the 8400 is sub-standard to the 6600.

Just to be clear, due to most of the parts being obsolete, I can really only claim for an entry level spec replacement?

No I was assuming your fried system was a socket 478. Also depends what you valued the PC for with your insurance.
Also remember you most likely will have to pay excess.

Yeah depends on the price u paid for it, a 3.2ghz HT must be bloody expensive back then...

Comparable would be an i7 965 and for the 6600 would be a 9800GT :D

Yeah, thats what I did for my dads PC that was stolen a month ago. Got all his original receipts, added up the cost of his system, took the rectron price list and built him up a new rig for the same cost.

He went from an AMD64 3200 with a geforce 6600 to an Intel Q9550 with a radeon (EDIT: typo) HD4890.... sweet free upgrade!

Claing under all risk. Excess will be minimal.

When did you buy the PC and what did you pay at the time?

Now you asking a question. About 4 years ago and IIRC about R 9000.

Then get a quote for a R9000 PC. ;)

Anyone care to quote on such? PM me for my e-mail address.

2 x 1Gig DDR2 667 Ram
