Comparative test results between iBurst, MTN & Vodacom

I wonder if your results would be replicated in other locations?

Is there one wireless truth out there or many?

The truth about wireless is that there are so many variables to consider. Elements like the weather patterns, location, interference from other radio signals on close frequencies and many other contribute to the success (or failure) of a wireless data connection.

A simple example is my external 3G antenna. By merely turning it a few degrees an improvement on signal strength of almost double was realised. Judging the improvement using the "fly by the seat of your pants" method it certainly "feels" faster. I have just not had a chance to repeat the test again, but will very soon.

It would be interesting though to see another user perform a similar test from his/her location to compare. Any takers?

By the way guys, we do not have 1.6, 1.8 nor 3.6Gbps anywhere in the world at this point in time and I'd bet my fanny perpendicular they don't have it in a neighbouring galaxy either. What we do have here in SA is 1.8Mbps. We are still awaiting 3.6Mbps. ;)

IMO the only thing saving you here from a probability POV is the "neighbouring" bit :) 3.6Gbps (dream). Makes me think of a Muhammad Ali paraphrase "speeds so fast the file is on your PC before the release of the mouse button.."

I have only seen speeds close to the promised 1.8mbs during last Xmas - downloads late at night at 1.7mbs on VC. I remember I did a few for no other reason than to marvel:)
