Does anybody know of a decent shop to view phones in or around C.T. ?
Most shops only seem to carry a few models, or are limiting to 2 or 3 brands.
It would be nice to see more of the models together in one place.
Also anybody know where one can do a cash price comparison on the different phones?
Most of the websites seem to show only contract pricing on phones.

Canal Walk is probably your best bet. They have an 8ta,MTN,Vodacom,CellC, Nashua Mobile all within close proximity of each other.

As for a cash price comparision, try the Game brochures. They only for CellC and Vodacom but at the end of the brochure they usually have a list of all the phones and the prepaid pricing.

I'm also shopping for a new/cheap phone at the moment. I'm looking for something to replace my Nokia E51. The Asha 303 didnt look too bad?

. The Asha 303 didnt look too bad?

I will try Canal walk again , but must admit some of the sales people are completely clueless on the products they sell.

The Asha does look nice, however i am short sighted, and the keys are too small for me to see comfortably, so that rules out any phone with a "keyboard", aiming at some or other android device with a screen i can read and icons i can see :)

I wouldnt bother with sales people (unless you really really have to). Rather check out: http://www.gsmarena.com/ and take a look at the user opinion section at the bottom.

I'm not a fan of the qwerty keyboard and even less so of a touchscreen. Call me old school but I like the old cellphone keypads. 1.) I can type without looking at the keypad and 2.) The keys are large and tactile.

I got burnt by android. Two things I learnt the hard way 1.) Dont buy a cheap one. ie. Buy the Galaxy SIII or dont bother. 2) Battery life is +-1 day with usage tops (I dont know how businessmen survive?)

Don't know if its just me but I want a phone to call/sms people and a battery life of a week. This is something of a challenge to find these days.
