Hey guys,

Jst wondering if anyone can help me..

The following ram will become available when I upgrade my mom's pc:
DDR-SDram 2.0; 4; 3; 8

And my bro-in-law's pc hasthe following already installed:
Corsair Value Select 2.5; 3; 3; 8

Is it possible that I can add the former to the latter, ..the older ram is dual sided, so i think it can run dual-channel, ..well anyway if I'm mistaken, can i still add it!?

Thanks, .in advance ;)

As long as they match DDR standards, you can't mix DDR with DDR2 and so forth. The numbers you mentioned there are timings, generally what will happen is, the BIOS will detect the RAM timings for all dimms installed and run ALL modules at the same speed that the slowest DIMM is detected as, via SPD.

Install the ram in, slap on a memtest86 test (seriously, this is important) and just make sure you get no errors and presto!

Memtest86 can be found here: www.memtest86.com
