Hi Guys,

Don't know if there is a thread like this already. If there is, why isn't it sticky? :D

I want to start this thread to share some of my experiences with online pc hardware shops or any online shop for that matter...

Back in April I bought a pc of R22k from (instert name here). Don't know if I am allowed to mention the name??? I got the feeling that they don't try to get the hardware to you as fast as possible and that is why I picked it up myself.

2 Weeks ago, my motherboard stopped working. (you guessed it, an Asus) :D and I phoned (insert name here) and they said that I should return the board to them and they will send it in for repairs/replacement. This was done on Monday 29/09/2008.

Now, if I didn't phone them repeatedly, I wouldn't have know what the status is of my board. I still haven't received it and everytime something else gets blamed, like everyone was at rage and they didn't have time or whatever.

Yesterday I phoned them again and they told me that it was replaced and they will be getting it today (yesterday) or tomorrow morning (today) :confused: :D and that I will be receiving it on saterday or monday. So I told the guy that I live in Midrand and he then said I will be getting it on Monday unless I go and collect it myself, in which case I can get it today still.

Now, the thing is, this isn't a cheap mobo and it wasn't the only thing I have bought from them, so I feel that they can at least put a little effert into this matter and that way I will stay a loyal customer...
 
Yip, name and shame is the only way. And maybe email the shop and point them at this thread.

We settle for below par service too often in SA.

Repair? Its still under warranty surely? You should get a new one ASAP

There is only one way to deal with retail... Crack some skulls. They don't give a **** about you, just demand and you'll get. Thats what I do.

Also I can't believe you're holding the name back! You owe it to us to tell us who it is, I need to make sure I don't accidentally spend money there now.
 
LoL, I will wait untill I have received my mobo before I post the name, otherwhise, maybe they see this thread as well and then I am really screwed :D
 
On the contrary.. Sometimes companies will see a bitch session here and fix the problem VERY quickly. No one likes bad publicity :p
 
Agreed, hellopeter really works, had a few complaints on there myself and the feedback and responses was immaculate. Name and shame unfortunately is the only way to get people now a days to give attention to you. Customer service doesn't exist anymore. As long as they have their cash they're not bothered any more :D

for some reason i more often than not, struggle to open the prophecy webpage...i find that bizarre, thus i doubt i'll try them out....

...unsure what the reason behind this is

Anyways, Henk from prophecy phoned me yesterday while he was at frontosa and orginized that my board was swapped out. I now have a brans spankin' new XFX 780 sli mobo. :D He said that he will know on Wednesday what the prize difference is and then I could buy something else with that left over cash... :D

A big thanx goes out to HENK! :D
 
Nice one .... Prophecy is normally on the ball big time. Wonder what the problem was this time :confused:

Good to see that they sorted you out though :D
