Do anybody know where I can get / purchase COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE for HDTV or/and HDMI cables in Cape Town.Thanx

hdmi cable were about £30 here maybe one year ago, but have dropped in price to £5 or so now.

R500 is an absolute ripoff deluxe x1000000000

Yebo Electronics has them starting at a touch more than R120. They have a store in Belville, but you may as well buy online.

Makro's R500 ain't that bad when you compare it to AVShop's R789 "Sommer HDMI Cable", AVShop do have sell the "AVC Component Video Cable" for R210.

If you're looking for a cheaper cables, Digital Planet sell the "BAFO 1.8M HDMI (M) - HDMI (M) CABLE" for R97.47 and the "Belkin PureAV Component Video Cable 9m" for R172.85.

Since you're based in Cape Town, you could get your cables from Zakspeed. They are relatively cheap and they make up the cables that are sold in many of the AV shops.

Thanx guys for your input and advise.I ended up going to Hi Fi Corp and got the COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE @ R49.95 for 1.8m.I figured that I don't need the HDMI cable in a hurry because I need to link my plasma and dvd via COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE to make use of the progressive scanning when watching my DivX moives or series and what an inprovement it was.DivX is so much clearer with the COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE. Thanx again.
