Composite to HDMI converter??

i've got no doubt that it spits out 720p from your composite signal.

the funny thing here is...your common garden lcd tv already does this to an extent, and most times does a better job of it than some cheap 3rd party device.

i mean, it's one thing to say it is spitting out hdmi, but it cant improve the picture..very much a garbage in-garbage out situation.

when you plug a composite signal into an lcd tv (or plasma) then it already runs through the tv's scaler circuitry before you see it displayed on the screen. so this device replaces your tv's scaler circuitry with its own chip. and who knows which one does a better job? my money is on the one in the tv already.

... ad is also a bit misleading. There's no way that upscaled SD source material can really be compared to native 720p HD or better source content. The ad gives the impression that by using this scaler you will suddenly have all your channels in HD quality, which is far from true.

thanks guys. yep the ad was misleading. they make it seem that purchasing their products is cheaper and more expansive than buying the HD PVR decoder. Your input makes perfect sense...garbage in - garbage out
