computer does not poweron after ups shut it down.

Hi i have about 4 servers, they are all connected to their own ups.
When the power go out then the ups'e is set to power down the computer after 5 minutes.
The computer shuts down correctly.

The problem is as follows.

When the ups power off the computers, then the ups is stil on and beeping. And if the power goes back online before the ups is flat then the computer does not poweron.

Then i need to shutdown and poweroff the ups by pressing the botton on the front panel of the ups.

That is, as I understand it, how it is suppose to work.

If they are not APC ups's, replace them with APC. They have good management software.

Two things i can think of - either the UPS's are poor quality and are not working correctly, or there is something still drawing power from the UPS after the server has shut down, like a monitor or external drive (that cannot be told to turn off by the UPS) that is causing the UPS tostay on battery power and running the battery down.

3 on them are mecer 800va ups'e, the other one is an old 1kv ups. 2 of then run on winpower and the other two on unix upsmon.

I think im going to set the poweroff timer to 10mins. By that time the ups will be near depleted.
