i have 2 hard drives c and d, c has windows and d has everything else(games, music, movies). so i get this "write delayed failure message", or something like that, while listening to music then the music stops and the d drive is gone. i restart the pc and it works for about 20min then it happened again. i got a blue screen which said "beginning physical dump" at the top it said if this is the first time you get this message i should restart my computer which i did, now when i start up it goes to the safe mode/last known config. that worked/start windows normaly screen but when i select anyone of those it restarts and goes back there :(

now im trying to reinstall windows but i get this message "an unexpected error (1106969088) occured at line 1733 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c." in the windows setup.

how can i fix it?

*cries*

Sorry....

Heat failure... the drives are probably mounted too close together with too little airflow.
Keeping the side of the case open will help, or fit an additional chassis fan to draw air in from the front.
HDD cooling fans are also a good option.

1) Have you formatted C already? If not, remove D and try booting
2) Have you tried installing on D?
3) Is your installation media corrupt by any chance? (For install error).

Does the drive make a noise prior to this happening?

A few weeks ago, my 2nd PSU was on it's way out and my HDD made a brief strange tick/clink noise and shut itself off and disappeared from the explorer list - I didn't get any message or blue screen, but found out that my 2nd PSU had failed completely.

Try doing what froot said - disconnect the D drive and see if it happens again.
If it does, then I think your PSU might be on it's way out. If you have a spare, try it.
Try defragging and scanning you HDD's - there may be a problem on the drive itself?
I would also suggest backing up drive D in case it's the HDD about to go.
Do you have a spare HDD you can try - swop it for your drive C and try and install XP.
If all else fails, format both drives and start from scratch - not the ideal, but it'll give you an new installation...
