How many of you okes are into all this pc modding stuff?

weather its full on hard core modding, or just the casual mods to make your case look nice?

i'm keen to hear what others find in the mods for themselves, and what thier dream mod case would look like?
------
Mine would definitly have Blue/red in it. I'd try to make one side blue and one red in a style like good vs evil look. So it would split down the centre having two completly different sides as if they battling it out next to each other.
With the red lights will have some form of demon looking eyes shining through. with the total opposite of good with the blue on the other side.
and it will have pictures on it so it does'nt make it look too plain.
And i would also have some object looking as though is breaking through the case, i always found it would give charachter to it..

So if you okes wnat let us know what kind of case you would find awsome for yourself. and that you would actually pay for, otherwise it might be abit far out there..lol

Well for one of my cases, I took the side panel over to my girlfriends place and pumped some lead through it with a Lee Enfield rifle.

is that all? wich way , are the shots going inwards or outwards? What other style do you plan on maiking with the bullet style? Army camo would be quite easy, to spray paint on, with maybe a ruggerd cloth texture for the front cover. liek that blanket thing they put over army cases in the tents. maybe you know what i am talking about?

The only modding I do when I get a new machine is trying to clean up the darn wiring so I can actually get to stuff. Think I'll go nuts on this new machine now and actually rewire the thing once I can find some nice flexible wiring for making USB cables and power cables. Most of the wire out there is low strand count stiff wire. I'm done with all these unused power connectors hanging everywhere and cabling not being long and flexible enough to tuck out of the way.

Is dust filtering and trying to shut fans up considered modding?

I painted my old Thermaletake Tsunami Dream a dark green color. My idea was to get a vinyl of "The Hulk" made and make it look like it was busting out on the side of the case. Underneath the pic I was gonna get some cool fonts with "The Green Beast" cut. But yeah. I cut a blow hole on top and on the bottom of the case. I also clipped off the wire mesh that was covering the front intake fan and the plastic bit with the slits. I just took some of that wire covering that you get for speakers and plugged the whole in the plastic.

I would still be using the case except that I ducked up the paint work. Little bits of dust doesn't make a smooth surface while the paint is drying.

I cutted bro old case up and fitted two psu in, stabbed the side panel with a screw driver to fit in a fan, used a grinder to smoothen it all out and made a uber 700w machine, [email protected] and a 7950GT AGP (who's fan died so I had to attach an old 8cm fan onto it with some cutting and grinding.)

It still works...currently with my bro

Just recently painted my cousins one black and pink with white dots(looks awesome:D) I got my case side Panel Window laser cut with a Dragon on the side. With my new case I'm painting the inside black(HAF932)

So I enjoy modding

I'm currently in the process of modding the thing's lights to do something similar to your, except I'm using thermistors to change the current and flow to different circuits, ie. I'm making the lights change colour, from blue to red, as the PC heats up.

i did the whole process of sleeving he cables and replacing the plugs ( Molex ) with UV reflective ones, adding a watercooler with uv reflective stuff in the water, Neon rope inside the case etc, led fans, and even a fan with a circular neon light on it....

The lights went out on the first night. If i close my eyes i can still see the lights.

Current machine has factory sleeved cables ( copper sleeve with pvc coating ), all the friggin blue leds have been tippex'ed over and the water in the watercooler is now minus the uv ractive junk.

I still have an extreme modding project i wanna do though. I have a plastic model of the millenium falcon that has a cavity big enough for a mini-itx board........ When i do evetually get round to doing it, i will post pics....

I'm liking the millenium falcon idea. :D

I'm still trying to find the illusive cheap SGI O2 chassis to squeeze all my network gear into.

Well, I just did a window mod on my CM690 :

Going to eventually spray the inside black, then I might vinyl the outside with one of my own designs...but that'll only come LAAAAAATTTTERRR :p

Put a spacer between the fan and the radiator so it has no dead spot around the fan hub. I'm going to go buy some longer screws and use an empty fan shell for the spacer.

looks great sheepbot, cant wait for the vinyl.

Thanks :) The vinyl is just a plan at the moment, not even sure if I have the time or cash to do it :P

Didn't even know there was such a dead spot, let me know if your temps improve....might /not/ be worth the effort :D

Here is an Idea I have to make a sticker for my ASUS 5850 graphics card, then going to mod my case around that. With Orange and yellow LED fans, cathodes and painting hard drive bays and mesh candy yellow. Going to look sick as. ;)

There are so many different ways to kit out a PC, i'm actually bummed about having a normal looking case. One day i will also get around to making a cool looking case, one this is to not have tooooooo many lights. Unless thats your style, but needs a few small ones to get some shine onto it.

Hey Sheepbot, how's that H50 colling system working for you?
Average temps?

Looking at getting one for a Q9650.

Working really nicely so far. I haven't had much time to play around with overclocking, but my 720BE @ 3.2GHz idles at 23-25 degrees and reaches 32 degrees at 100% load.

Going to try for 3.5Ghz at some point.
