Computer problems please help.

Hey guys. I have an oldish cd drive that has worked perfectly up till now. I played a cd this morning and froze my whole computer. I cant even do study now as non of my cd drives work. Where do I go to from here. Also when I am playing on the computer it just freezes up or it takes so long to do stuff. What do i do

Disconnect the IDE cable from the drive that froze the computer.

What cable is that? Sorry but am blonde and not good with technical stuff like that. I think its the cd drives that froze the computer

Its the widest cable going into the back of the cd drive. It is usually grey and flat. Wen did you install windows?

I realy dont know. Was a while ago. I still need to change the one cd drive but have not been able to yet as I have no idea what shop it was from

Error check you driver(s) - right click on C drive or which ever drives u use, then click on properties, then tools, then click 'check now' and do both options........
