So here I was, casually working on my computer and listening to music on a Friday night, when suddenly, out of nowhere I get a BSOD (the first one in probably more than a year) and my pc automatically shuts down. Confused, I press the button to turn it back on, only for it to turn on for about 2 seconds then shut off again. Persistently, I tried switching it on again but no go. Being the PC fanatic I am:twisted:, I immediately spun my thumb screws off and ripped off the side panel and vaguely stared at my hardware. Staring at my pc I think: "Hmmm okay, let's see what happens when I take 1 RAM stick out". I took out the stick, tried to switch the pc back on, same problem. Okay RAM stick #2, your turn! I take out the 2nd stick and place the 1st one back, but the problem persists. Confused, I place both RAM sticks back in their original positions and try turning my pc on again and VOILA!!! Turns on and boots normally again. My first thought was:

How you ask? I have absolutely no friggen idea!:erm::wtf: I've run Memtest and a bunch of other stress tests to check all the hardware and everything is working fine.

PC's man, I think sometimes they're just being temperamental on purpose. :(:p

Must be that time of it's month. But yeah. I know exactly what you mean. No rhyme or reason.

PC's do that sometimes. Once in a blue moon I have boot issues, and the first thing I do is open the case, unplug lots of things and plug them straight back in.

Solar storms affect electronics in strange ways,
Haf something similar to yours once, went as far as dismantling EVERYTHING and bench testing the lot.

Only to reassemble everything in exactly the same way.

This was during the last solar storm spike......

This also might be behind eskom and their woes......

Your RAM sticks had an argument and decided on divorce. But soon realised that being alone is not the solution, so when you reunited them they were happy again.
