"The reason is simple. Several political parties and the Youth Leagues have suggested that the day is loosing it's focus. The Comrades belongs to everyone, we are all South Africans and that day is important to everybody. That is how we have viewed it."

Will the Youth Leagues ever STFU ?
No, they need to try and make it seem like they're actually doing something and that their opinion counts.

Now we can all be good little children and attend ANC propaganda rallies on June 16th.

Youth day - whats that all about? Everyday is youth day as far as I can see.

At last this event that defined the history of the country will be given the exclusive attention it duly deserves.

How old is the the leader of ANCYL anyway? I heard somewhere he is in his 30's :\ Not much of a youth.

For others, not so.

Please enlighten us on how something that's barely 100 years old defined the entire history of SA :)

No, the single most important event in the history of this country is when those dutchmen sitting in some place in Amsterdam decided to build a resupply station on the southern tip of Africa...

He probably had not even been born then, so would not have any first hand knowledge of SA in those years.
