Principle thing here, is the RE7 an actual crack or workaround like some other 'cracks'. Hopefully in 5yrs or so these titles will be available drm free from the likes of GOG

All of the recent games cracked by CPY are full on cracks and not workarounds.

I can't remember if it was mentioned in that particular article but some developers have even removed Denuvo from their own games, most notably Doom had it removed completely via the last patch.

All of these type of games have mixed reviews, you either love it or hate it and then it evens the Steam reviews out to get the mixed rating.
