Prepare for dark days in South Africa

Eskom’s 2025 energy availability factor ranged between 54% and 59%, which sparked warnings that South Africans should prepare for load-shedding in winter.

Energy analyst Chris Yelland published Eskom’s latest performance data, which raised concerns about the power utility’s stability.

Once again he's crying... They drop the planned maintenance in winter, like they did last year. Considering last years EAF for the first 3 months of 2023 was 54%, they started to drop the planned maintenance to get the figure down, if we had the same maintenance % as April last year we'd be sitting on 59.1% not 55.6%.

Would be nice though if we had June, August and November unplanned though. Seems the more maintenance they've done the more unplanned has occurred.

Looks more like less planned results in more unplanned the next month, with 202409 being the exception.
Or just that they move that which is unplanned into planned, which is more likely imho, as they probably know some are going to break/damage and just don't have capacity at that moment, but then last minute do overtime or something for planned.

The best predictor is to do the opposite of Dawies, Yellands et al's predictions. Whenever they say dark days - we end up having power!!!!

Their business and livelihoods are based on Eskom being broken - these are not honest for "the public good spokespeople".

Always questions people's motives. Their business is down due to no loadshedding so they get people like Danny Push|t to create FUD and non real press like MyBB to publish it. No fact checking.

this , been saying it for years but people think I'm Mad,
there must be a reason people scream the sky is falling only certain times and other times quiet like a fish.

Eskom will never be stable.

In order to be stable they would need to build new power generation units. Only then will there be 1 requirement that will change their stability if the anc. eff, mkp and cadres are not involved at all.

I'm sick of this clueless Yelland clown who is always wrong about everything. Nothing but baseless negativity from him. People only listen to him because he's white.
