Concerns Naspers will extend controversial labour practices to its subsidiaries

Naspers grilled over food delivery drivers

A trade-union linked Canadian-based share association pitched up at the Naspers AGM this week to seek some assurances that alleged controversial labour practices employed by the group’s new CEO Fabricio Bloisi, while he was running Brazil-based iFood, would not be rolled out to other Naspers’ operations.

iFood controls 80% of the Brazilian food delivery market and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Naspers which is one of the largest technology investors and operators in the world.

People don't do their homework and check what kind of markup these restaurants are putting on the Fast Food that gets delivered to your house. We did a check as an experiment and ordered several pizzas from a nearby restaurant. When we collected the pizzas ourselves the order came to R900. When the pizzas were delivered to our house the order came to R1200. And my guess is that the extra R300 is NOT going to the drivers.... Who get their own separate tip anyway (I don't use the in-house provided tipping system).
