Elo,

Had a look at the default spam settings ... if they're using SpamAssassin (which it certainly seems to be) ... "5.0" is rather aggressive ...

Default settings for the spam is also DELETE not mark as spam and pass on ...

I think some new users will assume the mail servers are losing mail beacuse of this.

Also, maybe they should look at turning off extended reports ... we are after all paying for each byte ... and they're adding quite a few ;-)

5.0 is also default for SpamAssassin, wonder if anyone actually configured it.
I found 8.5 to nice number (very few false positives, no spam). If false-positives are a problem then 10 is safe, mostly it's just the 419 scam stuff that gets through then

If I find some advantage in using the POP3 account (just to receive forwarded email from other accounts) then I'd prefer the option of disabling SpamAssasin bcos all my email would be spam filtered before it gets forwarded. SpamAssasin 99 for me - I think that's disable isn't it?.

i think its better to have spam marked as spam, so you download it anyway but then have rules in your email app to move the spam to a folder or put it in the deleted items folder, that way you can take a quick squiz to see if any of your bosses emails accedently ended up there because he accedently said viagra

Actually spamassassin blacklisted emails/domains score 100, so somethings might still get blocked.

/me nods
in fact SpamAssassin can just modify the headers to include it, so the visual email the user see's is not changed in anyway, but they can still filter it.
