Hi All

I received my Billion 7202GR2 today.

What do I need to configure on the router to allow me to connnect from the WAN side to RDP on my home machine. It will always be from the same IP address on the WAN side, and I can make the LAN side a static address.

It is the firewall, virtual server and other options that is confusing me.

Maybe someone could post a step by step, I am sure I am not the only one interested.

[EDIT- Just to confirm, the RDP works from other PC's on the LAN. I have done the DynDns thing. It is just configuring port 3389 on the router/firewall. All my attempts have failed.]
Thanx in advance.

Use Virtual Server

Define incoming port, target machine, target port

That's it :-)

Thanx

I had tried that, so it must be something else. I will continue fiddling.

Is the target machine using Windows Firewall? If so, make sure the RDP scope is set appropriately.

Done. Thanx for the help.

I must have had it right. I simply tried RDPing from another machine, and this time it worked. The original source machine still fails, but that is not my problem.

Now to tighten up the firewall and only allow RDP from the one IP. Hopefully without breaking it :)
