Hi guys,

I have a Marconi (Telkom) Premium Combo ADSL Router.

The router has wireless built in to it. I haven't used this feature since I generally don't use my laptop computer at home. More recently I like to sit and work outside, and I'm wasting my expensive 3G Bandwidth.

Here's the problem, the laptop picks up the network. First it used to ask me for a network key which I didn't know, so I changed the Authentication from WPA_PSK to OPEN. I know this is probably not safe, but I wanted to see if my laptop would connect. It then says 'limited or no connectivity' because a network address was not assigned. I cannot access the internet.

Any ideas?

This is the wireless configuration page: http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1267&size=big&cat=500

Thanks in advance.

Connect your pc to the Premium Combo via a ethernet cable, then access the router interface, go into the wireless option...

Authentication: WPA-PSK
Encryption: WPA1-TKIP
WPA Enable: True
WPA Enable WPA1: True
WPA Enable WPA2: False

The WPA Key..., type your own key in there, like your cellphone number for example.

The ESSID, change that to a name of your choice.

Submit and change that, then on the left save it under Configuration.
Restart the router.

Pull the cable out of the pc
>go into network connections
>right wireless network connection
>properties
>wireless networks tab
>delete all your current wireless connections
>view available wireless networks
>it should pickup your wireless network
>type in your network key and confirm it

that should work, if it doesn't work...make sure your wireless is turned on the pc.:p
