I have configured WRT54G's before just make sure you don't buy the Version 5 one as this has problems in attaining the IP Address from the modem. Have done IBurst using this router works like a charm. Might need to check the MTU on the pc's. If your having problems leave me a message and I could assist.

I have the v5 and I have had no issues with it. Although to be fair I would still change it if I hadn't found out so late about it's limitations.

Guys, don't forget to tweak the MTU size down to 1352 on the config page of your router. Otherwise you will get performance issues from packet fragmentation.

One of the big benefist of getting an older model (not the v5 model) is that the older models ran a linux kernel and could thus be "hacked" to add more functionality (see www.sveasoft.com for an example).

The new v5 model runs VXWorks and cannot be modified. This is a big bone of contention with advanced users who will start to switch away from Linksys to other vendors such as Belkin to Liknsys (Cisco's) loss.
