It will not be used for PVR functionality.

Wish I could remember exactly where I originally read it will be used for this.

"When will the USB port be enabled for PVR usage? We are often not at home when certain programs are on and other programs are only on once a day so we never get to watch them (e.g. Mythbusters).

We have not planned to enable the USB port for recording but rather other value added services. We are busy developing the PVR and will have it ready early 2011."

Ah, so it seems that their initial stance to use that as a PVR option was simply to generate some hype.....

I am looking for some evidence on there original stance so that I can email it to them.

I'll help you try to find it. It was definitely SOMEWHERE.

I would anyway not use the USB for recording so whats the issue? If the unit does not have a hard drive then do not fool yourself into believing a device will be suitable as a PVR.

USB will be activated in around November, begin December, along with the launch of new channels.

USB will gives you basic dvr.All subscribers will receive an email as well as mail on your decoder. This will gives you basic recording,no ff or rw or timeshift.Recorded stuff can be watched once on your pc/dvd player.

PVR box will be launched around Feb 2011.

Sidenote:While DVR and PVR is the same thing,In the industry DVR is used for basic recording and no timeshift.
PVR is used for recording with epg,2 tuners and timeshift.

So yes...they are correct...the usb port will not be used for pvr.

Hi JustAsk. Can I ask for your source?
Or do you happen to work for them?
