Hi guys,

After browsing a lot of the forums I have come to realize that the general talk about Neotel is rather negative. I am just curious as to why this would be considering Neotel has been voted best Broadband in SA as well as best in their LTE category. Who votes for the best ISP and or are there just a lot of trolls upset with Neotel? Maybe it is a combination of both lol. Anyway, was just curious.:)

Their LTE is great if you have LoS. Phone works fine too. The rest of their services are pretty average (CDMA, business fibre... At least those are the two I've tried. Don't know about the other services)

Their hosting service is crap and when you run into issues the true colours come out - all the way to executive level. Consumers services are okay as long as you have decent coverage.

Neotel have great technology IMHO.
They fail miserably though in their Business processes, red tape and especially customer care.
For example, A customer had signed up for 1MBps Fibre at R1600 per month on a 1 year contract. 6 weeks later, they announce that 2MBps is now R1600 per month. They flat out refused to provide the 2MBps service at the new rate, unless the customer signed a new 2 year agreement. They have effectively lost any loyalty from this customer due to poor customer care over the course of the 1 year contract. When it comes to new / replacement services, Neotel will not be invited to quote.

Electron1,

You buy a shinny new Iphone 6S on contract. A few days later, the S6+ is launched, and being a I-person, you want it. No can do, says MNO. Grrrr! It's all about timing sometimes. You buy the latest model car, only to find out they are about to launch the new 2016 model.
Every product has a cycle.

In telecoms Moore's Law comes to mind. Bandwidth is slowly becoming a commodity, either halving the price every year, or doubling capacity every year. That's a fact, even in SA. The time that happens, is a variable, so predicting when that is, is like taking a shot in the dark, if you don't do homework.
