I'm wandering if someone can help me. Recently I have obtained a contract with RSA Web for FTTH using SADV.
Everything was going according to the time-line we were given and SADV phoned to book and appointment to install the fibre.
When SADV came they dug and placed a fibre line running from the box on our gate to inside the house where they proceeded to place a small white box on the wall where I assume the fibre gets spliced into. Later that day they delivered a Calix 844G-1 device from what I can gather is a router and said when the people that splice the cables arrive they will connect the Calix to the white box and the fibre cable as well.
RSA web then contacted me to find out how the installation went and weather it's neat, I confirmed with them it was done neatly they then asked about delivering the router which is in the contract to which I got confused and explained to them I thought they did as what I'm sure to be a router was given to me by SADV during the installation (the Calix) after sounding confused for a second he asked me to send a photo of the device which I did and he also said it does seem to be a router. He said it was ok to keep it and when the splicing is done soon if the internet is not immediately activated or I am not getting good connection I am to contact him back and they will deliver their router. This is what confused me as I don't want to be having to pay SADV for a device I don't potentially need but I was told but another RSA web employee that the router is part of the installation and I need only do what the Logistics guy said.
During my research into what device SADV left I read a few things that has confused and worried me about the installation. That being mentions of another device called an ONT and now I'm confused as to weather I need one or not, hope you can help or should I wait for the splicing to be done before worrying.
TL:dr setup is box on gate< fibre cable to home< white box on wall < Calix 844G-1 am I missing an ONT or is everything there? and Should I not worry about keeping the Calix SADV gave me and ignore the tp-link AC570 which is in my RSA web contract
