I wanted an option to connect to the internet automatically using the Cell C Huawei modem, but the bundled app does not seem to provide such a feature. Thus I wrote a small script to make the app automatically start up and connect as soon as you log on to Windows.

You can download the installer for "AutoWhoosh" here.

To disable it, simply uninstall.

DISCLAIMER: I have tested this on only one computer (running Windows 7 Ultimate x64), so please use at your own risk. I will not accept responsibility for anything that may or may not happen when using this script.

Cool, i actually set this up while i was away over the decemeber holidays..

I implimented it with a .bat file, just by using some windows command : rasphone.exe -d "Broadband Connection", put that into task manager and it dails ever time my pc restarts and then starts up my normal programs + dyndns so i can vnc into my computer.

Very useful - thanks!

I haven't download it yet - but what happens if the connection drops?
Will it redial?

No, it won't. But if there is enough interest, I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to add that feature. Depending on whether people really want to use the actual Cell C app, or whether it would be acceptable to simply connect using the Windows dialer. Or we could just ask Cell C to include those features in the next version of their app. :) Cell C reps?

You should be able to configure this yourself in the properties of the dial-up networking connection.

Only if he is using the Windows dialer or MDMA (which uses the Windows dialer). We're talking about using the Cell C app. Which I prefer, because it logs data usage and presents it well. And it allows you to check your balance.

The Cell C app creates a dial-up networking connection, what happens if you change the properties of that?

I've already tried that (great minds... :) )As soon as I connect, the properties of the connection reset to how they were when the Cell C app created the dial-up connection.

So Cell-C's dashboard changes the settings when you hit their connect button, what happens if you establish the connection using Windows, or Freaksta's method above?
