Ok so I finally got router with WAN port but I can't get it to connect to my iBurst.

I have a iBurst Desktop modem that I connect to my router's WAN port. I log onto the router, configure modem to use PPPOE and enter my iBurst credentials, there is option to manually connect, dial connection or always on, I tested with always on and manually connect but no luck.

Anybody tried to do this before? According to my knowledge if the router got WAN port then this is possible?

hmm I've never owned that particular Netgear router but after a quick search i can see it's an ADSL router and doesn't have a WAN port but only ADSL & LAN ports. You might not win this one, might need to get another router with a WAN port and just configure your routes to use WAN port as gateway.

Is your WAN Network light on?
Have you configured the WAN setup, probably under Advance Setup?
Are you using the correct port?
What is Iburst's MTU? Still 1492?
Network cable from desktop modem to WAN port correct?

The light is on yes, the light is red. iBurst credentials correct.
I have not changed any ports, left other configuration as default. What must the port be?
No idea what the MTU is, where do I see that?
The network cables working yes, was using it with my previous set up as well.

Well the light was red when I configured it this morning :wtf: will take photo tonight when I get home.

Thanks for the link, will try the MTU tonight and let you know.

iBurst just got back to me. They are using 1392.

Yes! Excited to get home and try this now. Thanks for your help. :)
