Hi, i've got an old 32" HD samsung lying around. This weekend i was cleaning out my study and decided to connect it to my PC and Xbox, thus having only 1 screen

Connected xbox via hdmi. no problems
PC connected via rgb. Works fine..... only thing is i get no sound. connected Headphone jack to RCA cable, but no sound comes through...

Can i connect pc to tv via the little white connecter (with lots of little pins ((dont know name)) and where can i get a cable

thanks

F

thanks for that agent....

i connected a headphone to headphone jack, but then i can have sound, or picture. will dvi to hdmi give sound ???

If the Xbox is connected with HDMI then you should be able to get sound from that at least.
As for the PC, you won't be able to get any sound if you are using DVI.

By RGB I take it that you mean those old connectors (the white, red and yellow cables).

by RGB i meant VGA :-)

and yes, the xbox works perfectly

Ok, that will also definitely not give you any sound.
An alternative could be that you connect it with DVI (better picture quality) and then run a Optical cable from your pc to the TV if you don't have any other HDMI connections available.
That's if your TV had PC has optical connections available.

Thanks Qrox, will ahve a look at that. connected all last night with the light not so good. i see my work pc has hdmi out, so maybe my Nvidia at home has one too. hope so

Connect pc sound port to microphone of tv, the microphone of the TV is for input, headphone jack is output.

eBay also have adapters that will convert VGA to HDMI with sound. So try that

Depends on your video card, but yes you can output sound over DVI--->HDMI. I'm doing it right now with my PC connected to a TV screen using an DVI to HDMI adaptor and an HDMI cable.

Well you learn something new every day. Had no idea that you could get sound over DVI even with a converter.
