Connect to a WPS network with wireless G

Hi,

I would like to change the wireless at home to use the WPS encryption.
however, i will sometimes need to connect with my laptop, which only have wireless G.
so, i am assuming i'll have to set up WPS and WPA2?
can this be done?
does it make sense to run my wireless this way?
