Hi all,

I need a bit of advice or confirmation of the following. I've read a few articles about this, and there seems to be some conflicting info that needs clarification:

I currently have a Cisco 800 ADSL Modem/Router, with 1 x incoming tel line and 4x LAN ports. This modem/router is setup with it's own static IP address for internet and networked PCs - there are 3x PC's connected to the modem/router, each with their own static IP addresses (the modem supports 4 x static IP's and is set up as such). There is currently 1x spare LAN port available.

Problem: My wife has a laptop with 54/108Mbps 802.11g wireless capabilities built-in and I want to be able to connect it to the wired network, using the wireless capability of the laptop.

Solution? I have seen the Planet WAP-4000 Wireless LAN Access Point (http://www.planet.com.tw/product/product_dm.php?product_id=190&menu_id=14) and it seems to be what I am looking for - there is also the WAP-4033 which seems to have a similar functionality but is 54Mbps only (http://www.planet.com.tw/product/product_dm.php?product_id=390&menu_id=14) - basically a wireless access point where the wireless laptop connects to the wired network so she can access the internet and files from her networked desktop PC. I am also looking at further expansion on the wireless side in the near future which these two AP's offer.

Am I right in this thinking, or way off base?

Any comments, suggestions, guidance, etc. would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers,
HB
