Connecting analog x ray to pc or dvr

Good day all

Not sure if this is the right thread but anycase.

At work we are looking to connecting a x-ray with either a computer or an analog dvr. The dvr looks like the easiest option at the moment.

Now my question is, can a dvr take any input or must it be a cctv camera?

And for pc, where can I find a card with bnc connectors, as it is kinda difficult locating one on google from ZA?

I also looked at those things, but their problem is that they have a too low resolution, so you will lose image quality. But thanks for the suggestions

Then we can get full images on the ip without loss.

Nope. That simply converts the BNC signal to travel over Cat5 cable. That is, an ANALOGUE signal using the various pairs. It is not actual Ethernet.

@OP, what kind of video output does the xray have? What resolution do you need?

Ultimately, you will need to establish two things:
- one, analogue conversion cables from whatever your xray outputs to whatever your video capture solution is able to accept
- two, a video capture solution that gives you the required resolution from your source (obviously, limited to the max resolution that the source can offer!), and can provide it as a digital file or stream.
- three, a software solution that can drive the video capture device, and save the files/streams appropriately.

If you can, please provide details of the xray system, so I can see what the outputs are.
 
The xray only has a bnc connecter for output, which I assume is analog, as no bnc is digital.

There is and spdif ouput on the screen, which I also assume is for screen sharing, which could also work with modern tv cards.

The xray system uses a memoskope for storage, but the system we have unfortunately dies not have one, and a new one (or refurbished) is the same price as the whole xray, thus why we just want to connect a pc and then save it as is.

For the resolution it can output HD according to the technician which I hope is full HD. I do know that a memoskope saves the image as a 20mb file which it converts to a lossless jpeg of around 8mb, so the resolution is HUGE.

I like the ip idea of DanDango as you don't need a tv card (which then requires a tv licence, thanks SABC) to few the image. But you do make a good point of getting a analog to digital converter.

FYI the xray is a Siemens Siremobil Compact L, which must be a secret cause Siemens gives little information about it. Note: this is a 2005-2008 model so it is not brand new
 
I think you need to post pictures of the connectors that you think you can use, and any labels that there may be. SP/DIF is not for video, it is for Audio, so I'm really not sure what that is about.
 
I know this post is dead, but I would like to post my results.

I bought a tv tuner card for the pc, connected the x ray machine from it's analogue output (for a third screen) to the tv card and got digital imagery like that.

Unfortunately the pc got struck by lightning, and then the xray machine 2 months later. But got it working
