Connecting Dell WD19TB Dock (Thunderbolt) to PC

Can I connect a Dell WD19TB Docking to my PC?

My PC does not have a Thunderbolt port. Is there an adaptor or something I can use?

PC CPU and GPU Spec:
GTX1070 GPU
Core i7-6700K CPU
MSI Z170A Motherboard

I would like to switch between my PC and Laptop sometimes without having to reconnect all the displays. If this is even possible.

Actually I am an idiot. I see now my PC has a GEN2 Type-C port. Gonna try it out. Not sure why I have not noticed this before. That is if it works with the Thunderbolt connector.

Nope, motherboard port doesn't work except powering the keyboard and mouse. Doesn't output to displays. Probably needs to go directly into the GPU and needs to support Thunderbolt.
Any ideas?

Edit: this won’t actually work it seems. You need a compatible motherboard

You need a USB C port on your motherboard that supports display port alt mode, as this is what is used to pass the video signals.. perhaps you can find a pcie card that supports this, not sure..

Alternatively, some graphics cards have a usb C port you can use for this, so you could buy a new graphics card that has one..

Eish.... Didn't really want to replace anything. Okay cool, was trying my luck with a simple solution, but I know with Thunderbolt it is not always so simple.
