Connecting HP Officejet 4500

I have the Wireless HP Officejet 4500. Is there any way i can connect this device to my laptop via wifi and not via a router? Operating system on the laptop is Windows Vista

Does the printer have wifi? There are two models, one with wifi and the other with normal LAN.

Do you have a Wireless access point?

If you don't have a access point you can try to setup the wireless to act as an access point using ad-hoc mode.

Don't have a WAP.
Yes the printer has Wifi (802.11 gb connectivity)

how do I setup the device to be a WAP?
