Hi all. I am interested in getting a ps3. I have a creative x-fi titanium and the Logitech G-51 speakers as part of my pc setup. The G-51's have no optical inputs so Im wondering if I can connect the ps3 to the soundcard via the optical connection and then play on the pc monitor and have the sound coming out the G-51's. I'm guessing I need to buy an optical cable and an HDMI to DVI adapter as my monitor has only DVI ports. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks.

Have not tried the optical out on my PS3 (as I have no optical input devices) but I cannot see a problem.

Anyway, lucky you with your schweet sound setup.

Thanks for the reply, where abouts can I purchase an optical cable from?

I use to connect my Xbox to the line-in of my soundcard and the sound played very nicely out of my PC speakers (Z-2300). Now a days I just connect my Xbox/PS3 to my monitor via an HDMI cable and then connect my PC Speakers to the audio out port on my monitor.

Works just as good.

Thanks for the input people. My monitor doesnt have HDMI or an audio port so I think to get proper surround sound I need to use the optical cable and then use a DVI to HDMI adapter to get picture on the monitor.
