I don't know, on the website I can see clearly it says FTTH available exclusively to residents of Parkview and Parkhurst.

I also have a hardcopy brochure where they explain how the FTTH sort of works, which is where I got the neighbours thing from.
 
Remember that guys digging the roads are only laying conduit and not the fibre, the Fibre is only later blown through when required.

I see one 'order online', a 'download order form' and a 'download parkview order form' all under FTTH

And yes, I'm guessing hard copy explains all... I'm just saying, from someone who comes to the site, thats what they see

Edit and this is landing the 'do I qualify?'... no mention of any mass orders needed prior to getting installation etc

Check the speedtest I posted, the reason these 100Mb fibre lines are so cheap is cause that 100Mb is only in SA, as soon as you download from international sites it's slow, very very slow.... it's not like you getting a 100Mb line straight to US/EU where most stuff is hosted... but will probably still be better than the ADSL they have

You said you were not sure how 30 users would feel about sharing the connection and I told you how they would feel.

Whether the line is 100mb or not is rather immaterial to them, I can assure you of this.

I currently download things from anywhere between 500KB to 1MB/s. Even if I still get those speeds I will be happy because it won't be capped.

And THIS ^ is where many people are going to get caught unfortunately...guys there is a reason why it is so cheap, go price a 100Mbps 1:1 and do the math.

I already see a sh^% storm coming with ISP's advertising 100Mbps FTTH. ALWAYS ! ask about international !

The speed tests I posted here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/658463-Vdsl-speedtest/page4 shows 4.32Mb down and 1.07Mb up to US speedtest servers, local it was in the 80's/90's up and down. But that local seem to have been more due to the access switch that only have 100Mb ports, now on Gb Lan and local speeds are about 500Mb down and 500Mb up. ( http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/610372-City-of-Cape-Town-RSAWeb/page2 ), so not sure how long before someone will see that on ISP's side and well, make sure it stays at 100Mb lol
International speeds has also improved a bit it seems, will see how long it lasts.

But you can get better international speeds, just going to have to pay for it

Take an axe and then use some insulation tape to connect a wire to the see-through stuff. Wella! Uncapped 100Gb/s.

Just cover it up nicely.
