Hi everyone,

My brother and i are setting up a wifi network in pmb, We are both going to have an external omni antena's, with a few computers connecting wirelessly to our own networks, can we join these networks if they are in range as they are?

We are using SENAO 11meg ap's

Is this the point-2-multi point?

Shot a lot

Depends if the APs support WDS or adhoc, but your performace would be really bad.

If you have to use omnis do that in your neighborhoods and then link to each other with a ptp link.

Look at Mikrotik kit it will probley be cheaper when you start looking at multiple radio setups.

Its a "Long Range Wireless Bridge / Access Point SL2611CB3+DX" from miro.

We both have a internet connection that we want to share with our neighbours, hence the omni's, but would like to link upto eachother as i said, the best way then is 2 have another set of ap and yagi antanna to link us, all banged together with the mikrotic hardware?

flip, and i thought windows vista would be as bad as my headache gets, wifi is a whole nother kettle of worms.

Thanks.

ur best bet would be a high site which all the clients can connect to, setting up a mesh in a neighbourhood is gonna be tough and ur clients has to be in close range

You could also fly in some engineers from ferimex @ 240 euro's a day + travel + accomodation

Just a thought.. :)

AFAIK the SL2611's do not support WDS. Only the newer 11g units (NL3054 i think) support this mode.
