Hi Guys

I am having a problem that Telkom are unable to sort out. My connection is dropped from time to time when I get an incomming telephone call. It only happens sometimes and is random so there is no pattern. This is extremely annoying if I am gaming online and someone phones me.

Anyone have a clue what it could be? It appears the Telkom techies are too stupid to pinpoint the problem.

The problem is probably a broken or misinstalled or even absent (in the case of a friend of mine.. go telkom go!) line splitter (separates the voice and data signals).

i read some were that if u have such problems it most likely is the filters that are connected to the phones ask telkom to check them out .

Could be splitter or could be phone.Best not log a call with telkom as u will have to pay for the callout(considered private equipement--u have bought it already).
Try going to their client branches and asking if you can swop it out for a new one(dont know whether their is a gaurentee on them though) or purchase a new one...they about R50.
Also try unplugging your phone and dialling your number and see if it disconnects. Then plug your phone in and dial the number and see what happens.
So from all this you can see i have been down the road with all these problems...but i still smile cause "i refuse to upset myself due to others incompetence". Keeps the heart attacks at bay at the end of the day...lol
