Connection fee - Vumatel

For sure, I meant as opposed to non-contractual adsl accounts for example.

Yup. That's the one negative about Vumatel. Expensive to switch, and you can't test different ISPs as there's no authentication, it's all done with vlans and dhcp.

The positives far outweigh the negatives though IMHO

Does the unifi controller manage Edgerouters?

If not, may I suggest a unifi security gateway instead? (I have one, it's brilliant)

Does not do Unifi, however the poweredge comes in at just under R1k for a 5 port whereas the security gateway is a tad heavy on the wallet at near double the price :) I spent the Extra betties on getting the the MIMO long range AP coz of property size and thick walls in the house :)

Pity...

Yup. Vumatel Network for me has been solid. They also went live *before* their previously estimated due date.

Beware - if Vumatel damage your home infrastructure, its up to you to sort it out. When digging up my path, they cut through a water pipe. A plumber charged R1800 to fix it. Upon complaining, my attention was drawn to a clause that states I must show them where the services are located prior to them installing stuff

I also have a Unify setup: Unify Security Gateway, Cloud Key, 8 port 60W POE switch, 2 x Access Points. Brilliant stuff! All managed with one, integrated application.

Highly recommended.
