Connection problems CellC network - White River

I am located in White River the new coverage area of CellC in Nelspruit does not reach my area. Vodacom, MTN and Telkom 3G all have a strong 3G signal in my area however I am connecting on Edge only via the CellC's network. Is there anyway I can force the modem to connect via one of the 3G sites onto the CelC network?

Did you buy one of the new promotional modems or SIMs or are you using your existing CellC SIM?

I bought the modem and sim from CellC

Then your only other option is a high gain antenna to see if you can get signal but if you are too far out of the coverage area that won't help.

I was wanting to test the 3g signal before buying, using a friends Huawei K3565 and my existing cell c prepaid sim. Are you saying I will not get the same result as the new promotional modems or SIMs?

Correct, only the new data promotion SIMs are provisioned for the HSPA+ network.

You can get CellC guy to come & do signal test for you.
Ask nicely at your nearest store, thats how i did it
