Hmmm.... Today the problem is back. Stable on GPRS but 3G falls away after a few minutes. Speed not great either when it is working. It started late yesterday with a few disconnects but today it is bad.
Are the Siemens guys playing with the buggy firmware again?
Today the problem is back again(actually yesterday). Maybe it is the weather, pending elections or the position of Pluto relative to Jupiter? Not the general 2 to 3 minute breakup. The connection will last for 10 minutes and then will disconnect. Yesterday it was so bad that the dash continued to crash. Problem will probably correct itself after today (after my bundle has expired).
I have made peace with the fact that this wireless communications thing is work in progress. Going to get ADSL as soon as Telkom decides to pitch (which has been 3 months now, but they do send me nice SMSs to tell me that they are still thinking about me and my order ).
Apperently Vodacom did have a 3G problem today , whether it started yesterday or not , not sure, but they are working on it, seems to be very problematic
How does 3G technology work as far as coverage goes? What I do not understand is how I sometimes (04:30) get no coverage, not even GPRS, and other days (same time) get 3G at 3 bars? (I use my SE V800 as a modem at home - Mooikloof area). It is just not dependable - I thought that either you had coverage, ranging from excellent to bad, or not at all? Why does it come and go?
