Hi Hugo, still no response?

Do you know my sister in law who works there? Cecilia Hill? im gonna ask her to speak to you....

Hi Dezzie,

If I understand you correctly; you want to connect your Neotel Prime device to your Netgear router; and then use Windows 7 to connect wirelessly to the Netgear router to provide an internet connection.

Currently, the only router I know of that supports Neotel is the Dovado UMR, you can plug your Neoconnect Prime device into this router and share your connection. Incredible Connection stock them at R1899, Vodacom stores also might still carry them for slightly less. http://www.dovado.com/UMR.html

When I was still with Neotel I used the Dovado; I plugged my Neotel Prime device into the Dovado router, and from the Dovado I could share the connection with all my other wireless devices.

If you don't want to buy another router, your only other option is to plug the Neotel Connect Prime device directly into your computer's usb port, you will then also need the Neoconnect Manager software to establish a connection, this software should be on the disc that came in the box with your device.

Good luck.

Thanks man,
I dont know if i can afford the dovado thats why im trying to connect using the netgear router, from what i have read, aren't you suppose to cancel the neoconnect manager and use windows dialup to connect? because of the manager resetting the ip?

Hi Dezzie,

That is actually the one of the reasons I left Neotel, the Dovado has got a function called "Internet Connection tracker", which automatically reboots the router if it loses connection to Neotel ( which it does pretty often, I was told due to the towers being too congested ) and once it is rebooted it is fine again, although the reboot only takes 30 seconds it is still very annoying when you are trying to work and it is happening repeatedly.

Maybe you'll have better luck with the windows mechanism, but unfortunately I cannot help you with the setup of that as I have not done it before.
