Connection Problems - SA Websites

We also have problems with both local and international sites here in Stellenbosch. I do not use the Telkoms's DNS servers since we have a leased line and DNS goes over that.

I have also seen that we get about 30KB/s (max) since this morning around 09:00 where we normally get 110KB/s (on DSL 1024). My ssh sessions work, but disconnects every 30min or so.

I called our ISP and they say that Telkom said something about a huge thunderstorm and with their next call there was nothing wrong according to Telkom.

They all on XPand I got them to flush the DNS as well.

XP should be hanged together with Telkom SAIX.
 
No its not funny. Different people in different locations with the same problem using the same settings they normally do.

Those IP's are giving major issues in certain areas.
We changed our DNS to 196.25.1.1 and 196.25.1.9 and it works great.

If that still doesn't work, try usin proxy server cache.saix.net:8080
