I have an LCD monitor (19" widescreen). It has a VGA, SVideo, and Composite connection. I connect my XBOX to the VGA and Media Centre to the SVIDEO.
The problem is that when I boot up the PC, the picture is not clear. The rez on the PC is set to 1024x768 and only 60Hz is available.
I am running a 6600GT AGP card with Purevideo as my decoder.

What can I do to get a clear picture.

Just for the record, when connecting my PC to the screen via VGA, the picture is spot on.

Is it Windows Media Center ? I suggest you also join http://sa-mce.com/ and post there.

I suspect the problem with the SVideo and Composite interfaces are that they are Standard Definition only (regardless of the resolution set on the PC). This is very low resolution and also not the LCD monitor native resolution.

This is how my Media Center works: Changing the res only affects the VGA interface. SVideo and Composite remains Standard Definition which is too low to display the desktop and applications properly. However, the Media Center interface is designed to still look good at SD.

Thanks for the reply. I am a member there, but I forgot the web address
