HI. My tp link WAN port is connected to a 5ghz external antenna via a cable. Then i would like to connect my laptop (no ethernet port) to my tp link via wifi. If all of this is possible I would then like to connect to my folks wifi network, about 2km distance (hence the 5Ghz antenna). Is all of this possible?

If you have line of sight between both properties you can place a dish on both sides with routers and create a network.

Ok krieg, thanks. I'm nowhere when it comes to tech stuff. I was kinda thinking, if an antenna was connected to my pc would I be able to swing it around and pick up all sorts of other signals, including from far-off?? Then maybe I could log onto my folks. My pc picks up signals right now all around me.

Basically is there a way to boost my wifi with a tp link wr840n and a 5Ghz dish antenna.
I have a laptop with 2 x usb 2.0 ports and 1 x type C port, no ethernet port.

At a distance, it's way more possible to do stuff via 2.4ghz, you will need line of sight no matter what, which mean that antenna likely has to be on the roof. For your laptop to connect, your tplink has to be broadcasting another wifi signal.

Can you see your parents house from your rooftop with a pair of binoculars?

You will pick up a lot of signals but the quality of the signal from such a distance would be too degraded to reliably communicate unless you also increase the broadcasting from the other location. If you stand on your roof can you clearly see the other location? If you have line of sight you can add something similar to this Mikrotik at both properties.
