I'm inthe process of moving into a new house and as luck will have it Telkom can't provide a telephone or a DSL line. The response I get from them is rather simple in that it will take 30 to 40 days for them to be be able to say when lines will be avaliable. Unforunately for me I require a connection from the first day I move. I've contacted Sentech and they simply said they don't have coverage in the area, iBurst however has been wonderful enough to say that they have poor coverage in the area but that they will send someone out to test it for me regardless.

Now my question is can anyone suggest another form of affordable connectivity? I am moving to a new development in Meyersdal in the Alberton area so any advice on getting some sort of connectivity would be appreciated.

How about EDGE (MTN, CELLC) or 3G (MTN, VODA)?

Get R75 mychoice topup from MTN with free EDGE data card... then get 100meg or more bundle. R185 per month all inclusive... more if you opt for bigger bundle...

Free or do you have to sign a lengthy contract and therefore pay for it over a period of years like you do with a cellphone? If its the former one (free) then where do I get one?

The R75 MyChoice Top-up is a contract and therefore you'll be in it for 2 years.
Bummer :( Would have liked to have acquired one to use during our frequent power outages (non-CPT related).
