Connectivity

Well not killing it but DDOS would be a point

but then again bringing down google servers and MS server with a DDOS is damn hard

Just noticed ICQ Servers ae also "down"

morning all...

talking to my brother on skype chat, he's in mexico and says everything works over there, so i guess the virus thing's out of the question. must say it was my first thought until i realised that i'd forgotten to come and check the one place where the cape town late night owls congregate...

just thought i''d add my voice to the coffee-drinking, refresh-button-hitting throng. i feel less alone now.

Yeah but if the virus does do DDoS attacks they would also feel the effect. Does someone have the IP from google.com?

Yeah that does suck but then again I'll play a litte CSS now^^

Aah Telkom's idea of April fools. :) I guess in some ironic way it's a pretty joke.

So we'll probably get access on April 2 then

I can access most European systems, but it seems to be a carrier - specific problem to US routes.

Interestingly, mail, etc still function just fine to the US but not browsing - it probably has something to do with the transparent proxies misbehaving.

No problem. Non - HTTP is working for me across the board, for instance I have just relogged in to a US server using SSH and it worked without any delays. Right now I'm running a grep and it's humming along just fine (while I poll for new mail using a mail client).

One of my technicians plays a game called TribalWars (www.tribalwars.net) to pass the time during the day and he has just SMSed me informing me that he can at least play that ;) (it loads perfectly fine for me but is hosted in EU).

....And I thought I was capped, as I could only access local sites and NOT Google and Facebook.

Telkomsa.net also doesnt work. :(

axxess local only and can only access a few sites on local all other are timing out or page not found error.
Take2 not working
A few Ftp servers also not working
Mail is also down :(

It's been over 5 hours now and I can't find one post telling us what is happening. On any "available" website.
(if you have seen any info on this "blackout" please post it here).
