The average PlayStation 2 consumer paid a hair under $200 for his console. The Xbox, at about $188 on average, fares a bit better than the GameCube with its average price of $127.

Ahh man. So should I buy my xbox this weekend or not? Was so tempted to. Now I'm indecisive again :(
 
I agree with Gavin, the cut is probably at least still 3-4 months away, that's easily accounted for as game time. Also considering the specials we're seeing at the moment, a lot of that "cut" is already worked into bundled pricing.
 
Just buy it. Not worth the stress of waiting for it. Besides, think of it as extra playing time you will be "buying"
 
Ok i bought the IC bundle with PES6 and extra controller. Also bought GOW. Man it's a good game. Playing it on controller takes getting used to though. Good buy. ;)

Are you connected to Xbox Live yet? If you do you must join our junior GOW games, they are lots of fun.
 
Would the general 10x factor still apply with these price cuts, meaning it would come down to ~R2000?

Hehehe...Thanks.let me get into it first..I'm stil very noob at the moment.

Have to hook up my modem to the xbox which in my house will take a while to hook up.
 
Well hopefully the premium comes down to the cores price in SA.... Breaking the R3k barrier is important, this would also mean the Core would be < R2k which is fantastic.. The PS2 is still in that bracket which would give a huge boost to 360 sales in SA
 
I think anything sub R2k would see the Core steal a march on local PS2 sales, although it's still hard to compete with Ps2 deals like console + 4 Games for R1500.

Never challenge the value of a pack-in ;)
