Help me on this one quick. Without any equipment including a TV or keyboard etc., how much would the following setup on any of the three consoles or a PC set you back:

1. The console / PC (PC must run latest games)
2. Controllers - at least two. (Include 2nd nunchuck for Wii)
3. Three brand new games
4. A TV / Screen that would take advantage of the system but is not ridiculously expensive. (eg. PC - 19in is cool)
5. A months online fees if there are any

Here is the Wii

1. Console: R2900
2. Extra Wii Remote and Nunchuck: R800
3. Three games: R1500
4. 74cm TV: R2500 (I'm guessing)
5. R0 (but there are no real online games, so this is naff)

Total: R7700 (approx)

Surely the same display could be used on everything and therefore need not be included?

What I paid (ish)

360 r3699.00
Wireless controller - R399 (pnp screwed up)
Games are about r599 for the latest releases
Xbox live ÂŁ35 pa

On the screen, no, because a HD TV is not essential to get the most out of a Wii - but whatever.

So for a Xbox, it'll set you back, with the same TV as I mentioned for the Wii, around about the same amount - R7500 or so.

Not really. the 360 pro system with a game is R 4000.00.
your 20 Gig Hard drive is included as well as the HD cables and 2 wireless controllers. so add 2 games @ R 599.00 each.

i had a look at the Wii, it is a cool console especially the interactive gameplay. I bought myself an Xbox for 2 reasons. Pro Evolution and FORZA 2

Not really, most folks can use their current PC LCD screens to great effect for the X360. So it boils down to affordability in the end.

Do they give away that second controller now with the 360? :(

@Bwana - yes, there's a typical R4000 bundle that includes Pro, 1x extra wireless controller and 1x game that varies from Forza 2, to PES6 to just recently Halo 3.

I'd say take the TV out of the equation otherwise things get messy. Just say - entry level 32" LCD - even the Wii will look great because it can do nice 480p widescreen.

You can't add the TV to the equation, the vast majority of console buyers have a TV...

Halo 3 even looks good on a SDTV ;)

Haha pretty funny that I get to do the PS3 :p

1. Console: R6299
2. Extra Controller Included Above
3. Two Games Included Above Plus One More: R599
4. Are We still Including This?
5. Free PSN

Total: R6898 (Or in my case R0 :D)
Lets hope that 40gig SKU comes soon.

Just realised we never actually did a Complete 360 build :$

1. Pro Console Bundle R4000 (includes headset & HD cables)
2. Extra Wireless controller Included above
3. 1 game included, so 2 more = R1200
6. XBL Gold 1 year (from take2) R600

total: R5800

So basically if you exclude Live! a 360 Pro will cost the same as the Wii.
