Guys,

My 3G is permanently connected on my phone as per the status. Shows connected to Vlive!.
How do i turn this off and on as needed, been through all my settings but cannot find anything.

Also, are there any apps on the phone (that come standard) that dial up to the internet to work or to update. Just concerened as i do not want to see a HUGE data bill at the end of the month or does it not matter since i was not using the internet or active sync for exchange?
Thanks in advance.

Have a lekker weekend.

The device runs WM 6. one of the key features is push mail, and to do this it requires an active connection. as long as there is no data being transmitted you shouldnt get billed.
I am not sure, but i think you get charged for establishing the connection. anyone out there got any info?

Okay, i havent used the i780 but it should be the same as any other WM 6 device. locate your comms manager, here should see, WiFi, Phone etc. you should be able to turn off the active data connection from here. ps this normally works hand in hand with Push mail.
On most PDA's you can push and hold the Red end call button to disconnect data connections

I upgraded to a i780 in late July. I use the active sync to get email from my exchange server, regularly check my gmail account, use mobicricket, use XTRA GPS and some web browsing and my usage for August was only 67Mb.

thanks guys, found out how to turn it off, it is under Wireless Manager, Menu, Disconnect Cellular Data,
